This place is terrible I would not and I mean would not recommend anyone to go here if they are sick they put my friends son on a bed and the sheets was dirty the room look like it hadn’t been cleaned at all the nurses are rude those poor workers up front have no clue of how to handle the patience in the lobby there was some girls yelling and acting childish the nurse that came in the room came in to tell why my friends son stomach was hurting and she says well it could be a tummy bug then say she don’t know why are you there if you don’t know they need new staff who knows what they are doing and get the ones out who is there just for a pay check and not for the help that people need when they come in there. The only part of this hospital that has good workers is ICU and The baby unit.
Was not impressed with ER check, but other than that, very nice hospital. Clean, professional, caring (expect ER check in). My over night stay was good, nightshift 4th floor nurse Stephanie, was outstanding. Day shift nurse (Cali? she was new working with Jeff) was great. Lab techs, nutrition, and everyone else was super friendly. ER check in was really bad, rest of ER staff was great.
Please, PLEASE, fix ER check in
Three experiences at Tennova for my wife's care were good, one in ER, one for outpatient surgery and one for in-hospital surgery. The worst issue was mistakes in the billing department, which took several phone calls to resolve. I finally insisted on speaking to an office manager who was very helpful, apologetic, and provided resolution.
Was there for many hours in the ER. Then received a doozy of a bill for a mashed finger. My doctor is great! But was not working that night. Just happened by. No reflection on him. The people in the ER moved like molasses. Last year I was in another country. Had a heart issue was in and out of the ER after test. Everyone was so nice. Even w/o my insurance I received a bill for 170.00 which included an ambulance ride. Come on Tennova surely you can do better that this for senior citizens!!!
Will update review if they fix the situation...
UPDATE: They resolved the situation! They contacted me back, I did not have to make multiple calls to them.. All in all, we had a good experience.
Took daughter in for a scheduled dental procedure on 7/25. I had to pay $800 upfront, which is fine. The staff was truly great and we all had a great experience.
They did not however file the pre-auth with my insurance, so I was landed a $35,000 medical claim that was all denied! That is not even for anesthesia! The dental portion of the procedure went through as expected and I'm actually due a refund! The medical was not filed correctly, and the claim is with Tennova. I am waiting on Tennova to contact me now about a retro-auth/billing for my insurance.
When I scheduled the procedure with the dentist they told me it was covered by insurance. So Tennova screwed up, and didn't send in the authorization and perhaps even some incorrect coding. I'm not sure, I need them to contact me!
