We have had my dad up at the hospital numerous times over the past month for smothering and pain in between his shoulder blades. Sadly they don’t listen except to hear the smothering part. To top things off last night when we were there instead of tending to patients and verifying that they had what they needed the nurses and some others stood at the nurses station laughing and caring on.
I wouldn't take a stray dog to this hospital.
I am very disappointed with the lack of care in this hospital. I will start by saying I was admitted thru the er which I do believe has improved somewhat with service over the years, sadly however being a patient here has been a very up down experience. What I mean by this is, that some staff has tried very hard to show they have compassion and human dignity and care for their patients and their well being. While other staff seem to have chosen the job on the old concept of steady work in the medical field and in my opinion is a very sad reason to be there. During my visit, I have pushed the call light and be answered promptly while other times if the fear of my medical conditions causing death wasnt a worry for me I would tell off some sorry excuses for medical staff and human beings in general and walked out and went home. One sad and pathetic but true experience was on my first night here when I was very sick and great deal of pain and soiled my sheets and needed them replaced, after I come from the restroom I found the sheets I called for just tossed onto the soiled sheets still on the bed with the help of well myself only. Apparently the nurse who took the call thought her job was done simply by managing to get the clean sheets to the room even if they were on the soiled sheets, well let me just say with the medical shape I was in when I first arrived on that night I'm lucky my body didnt give out all together while I was doing the staffs job for them. On another occasion it literally took over 3 hours just to get tylenol brought 10 feet down the hall. However some medical staff were great and I pity they have to carry a bad rep for the sorry lazy staff there.
Not sure what hospital everybody else has been to but the lafollette hospital my friend was in was incredible. Everyone was outstanding while caring for my friend. The Dr, nurses, pharmacist, case management and respiratory techs were incredible. I could mention names but it would take all day. The pharmacist even went out of her way to stop by my friends pharmacy and paid the copay on his meds he couldn't afford because the zero dollar copay card didn't work. Now that's some incredible people. If we had more people in this world like all the employees at the hospital, this would be a lot better world to live in.
Few times I went I sat for 4 hours and was still never seen. Charged me thousands of dollars and didn't even help me. Wouldn't mind if the pace burned down
There's much more bad experiences I've had here but I'm sure you get the point.
