The Orthopaedic Hospital – Lutheran Health Network

My initial visit to this place was because I was ordered to go here after Lutheran ER. I was told to be there first thing in the morning because I probably needed surgery and its first come, first serve. I showed up in the morning in quite a bit of pain since ER didn't do much for me. First off, the computers were down and I stood in line for quite some time before I was allowed to sit down. When I was finally able to sign in, I was immediately told I needed to pay $2700 up front or no surgery! I said all I brought was my ID and insurance card. SOMEONE needed to tell me this BEFORE I arrived! (ER said nothing and when we called in no one mentioned) All the receptionist said was "Yeah, I wish they would warn people too". Fortunately my husband had a charge card. I was so stressed about the money. After my exam, they said I needed to go sit in another area. We waited 45 minutes with me STILL in pain. I finally stopped an employee to complain and was seen. All this was about was scheduling my 2 week after surgery exam! The communication is horrible. My surgery ended up not being scheduled until the next day so back again I went. Everything went well but I got the impression I was about the last surgery of the day. I was rushed out and my after care paperwork was pretty vague. My 2 week after check took 1.5 hours. I guess MY time isn't worth anything...

super friendly and competent staff - we even received card at home after our stay - so nice! would recommend to everyone!

This place is amazing. It's a five star hospital. The nurses are great and the management is amazing. You will be taken care of here well. I used to work here and from my experience this place is one of a kind

Not enough nurses when you need them or have a question. Haven't gotten room service order right yet. Food, not great.
