I went to the Tuscaloosa VAMC after returning from the Iraq invasion in 2004. As I approached the main facility, I was heartened to see the surrounding grounds to be manicured, in the exact fashion of the Army I knew in the 1970's. The fine, old building has been very well cared for, and that, only happens in the presence of deep respect. When I went inside the building, it was exactly the same, with very close attention to every detail, and I fully expected to see the hospital's Command Sergeant Major to be personally monitoring the conduct of each person I encountered, for any hint of policy, or AR-670-1 infraction. When a command is this sharp in every place you look, It's a good bet that the command is that sharp in the other places as well.
Well Done, Tuscaloosa.
