I have been in the ICU visiting my son and I just want to thank ICU Nurses Lizabeth and Allan for their professional and caring attention to my son. Their positive reassurance to me helped me deal with the situation. Thank you so very much
Been to this hospital a few times for myself and my child due to the Convenience of it. Anyway, the hospital is dirty wrappers,gauze,hair on the floor and drops of blood on the sink. I literally watched a triage nurse take the sheet off the bed FLIP it and called someone else back into the room! Nor did she wipe the area etc. this hospital scares me.
I just had my surgery here! My surgeon, Dr. Patel was fabulous. My anethesologist, my nurses, my surgery consult, everyone was so sweet and reassuring. It truly made me feel so good in a time that I was so scared.
I visited the UM Charles Regional Medical Center on Friday,September 21, 2018, the admitting staff and triage staff were very kind and compassionate, the kindness and compassion went DOWN from there. We were taken to a room in the back and the nurses were very nice. They took vitals and explained the events that were going to take place next. FINALLY in comes the Doctor with THE WORST BEDSIDE MANNER EVER!!!!!! Dr. Jennifer Rice was rude and was very nonchalant about the symptoms of the patient. We suggested they should take x-rays and after about just sitting there with no information other than an occasional nurse walking by an x-Ray technician showed up to take x-rays. Then after another 2 hours I stepped out in the hallway to ask a woman at the desk (with green scrubs) if she knew where Dr. Rice was and with out looking up to acknowledge me she simply said “no:”. I then asked if she could find her she acted like she contacted someone and said they waiting on test results, seemed like a generic answer. Eventually one of the NICE nurses stopped by and said they waiting on x-ray results. After being in the hospital for 4 hours we left. Oh did I mention there were only like 2 and we were one of the 2 patients listed under Dr Rice name. I agree with some of the other reviews that this hospital is in desperate need of some help, could start with customer service training (try the module Verizon uses they have excellent customer service) and some folks might need to be fired.
Worst hospital ever. Any good comments must be paid contributors. Let's run down just how bad it is:
- Routinely ignoring the buzzers by elderly patients
- Being rude
- Making the patient feel like they are a burden
When a person goes to the hospital, they expect caregivers, nurses and staff to care. We expect you to do your job. We expect you to hold fast to your oath. We dont expect to be ignored or ridiculed. DO YOUR JOB WITH EXCELLENCE OR QUIT!!!
