If it wasn’t for the Big Spring VA I wouldn’t have anything good to say about the VA. It isn’t Abilene, that’s for damn sure. Thank you Big Spring Physical Therapist. You knew more about what was up with me just walking up to meet me than multiple visits to doctor and nurses in Abilene. Forever grateful.
I would not recommend working for the Police Service at this VA. I was an employee until I resigned recently. My moral compass would no longer allow me to work here. The New Chief of Police Adolph Ramos and his kid Lap Dog Zachary New run the show and are corrupt beyond anything I have ever seen within Federal Service. Practices of Intimidation, Obstruction of Justice, Cohesion, and Sexual Harassment run rapid here. BEWARE!!!
Urgent care isn't open on weekends and all they can tell you is that you can go to a local emergency room but there is a chance it won't be covered. I am a disabled veteran on a fixed income and have enough problems I am trying to deal with without adding more stress with the mental state I am in. I have lived many other places and been to many other VA facilities and this VA and the Abilene VA are the only ones that have left me feeling alone and in the dark.
Excellent staff and doctors, however they could use more doctors! Dental clinic has the best dentists I've been to in a long time! Dr. B. Is fantastic! And the pharmacy staff and pharmacists are top notch! This is what the VA should be like everywhere! Leave it to small town to get it right!
The VA police and VA staff are more concerned with protecting themselves and the staff than protecting its veterans who come there for treatment. They have continuously allowed a VA employee and her boyfriend to stalk and harass myself and my girlfriend who are both veterans and go there for treatment. We have been followed at the facility, blocked into a parking spot and denied freedom to leave, followed from the VA property to other locations, and yet the VA police refuse to do ANYTHING! Big Spring PD claims that since it originated on federal property, the VA police have to be the ones to act on it, and VA police say that once it leaves their grounds, Big Spring PD has to be the ones to act on it. Either way, my girlfriend and I both have to suffer and endure the hardships of being stalked, harassed, intimidated, and bullied by these people. It is clear to me that the VA cares more about protecting its own, rather than protecting it's veterans. Remind me again, what did we serve for?
