I had my baby at Vassar and I wish I could rate higher than 5 stars!! My 4 day 3 night stay was amazing as the nurses were serious about their jobs, yet very friendly. In the process, the nurses were so supportive and talked me through the whole thing. My room after I had the baby, had a breathtaking view of the river and Mid Hudson bridge. I loved hearing the trains go by as I got cared for by the most professional ladies around!! God bless you all!!

Went in for an appendectomy and had the best experience. Interacted with at least 15 staff members over the course of a couple days and they were all so kind, personable, and thorough. Couldn’t ask for a better experience in a hospital. Thank you all!!

Stay away from Vassar Bros.! The level of incompetence and lack of urgency is astounding. We are dealing with two doctor's offices, one right above the other on the next floor, and we, the patients family have to be the conduit of information between them because they won't communicate with each other. Calls never returned and a total lack of urgency where if you are not the proverbial squeaky wheel, things will be left undone indefinitely. We are talking about life and death here! My mother's lungs are filled with fluid as she is battling cancer and we have to go through hoops to get the procedure scheduled and communicated to us! Unbelievable. Actually, very believable. We've been through this before with Vassar/ Health Quest. And after all of that, after speaking with the doctor's office telling us her lungs need to be drained (the CAT scan was four days ago) they never said take her off of blood thinners so we can do the procedure, and they schedule her for it, but we are now told by the office that will be doing it that she has to wait ANOTHER 48 HOURS before they can do it. Unbelievable.

I had a scheduled surgery was asked to come in 2 hours prior. Fine no problem. I arrived on time. There was no other patient waiting, I was told to take a seat and waited 15 minutes to check in for surgery. Once upstairs, I was scolded for being late. I of course explained what happened down stairs. My surgeon was stellar. He is the only reason I felt comfortable going through this surgery at Vassar. Once out of recovery and in a room the staff was lacking. Had to buzz to use the bathroom busting a gut waiting for the assistance. Unable to handle any personal care, when asked they said ok we will get to it in a while. It was six days before I set my alarm on my bed and brushed my teeth, washed up a bit and brushed my hair which became so matted I thought I would had to cut it off. Im not sure what happened to Vassar but I would rather take my chances any where else.

I had a very good experience with my tracheal stenosis surgery here, Dr.Faiz Bhora was an excellent doctor not only on his work but as a person and human being. I have many words of gratitude to him and his colleagues and the nurses who attended me, thank you! Luz M Orozco
