Brenda Doran

My name is Brenda Young. I have had 2 amazing experiences at Waynesboro Hospital E.R, Urgent Care and Greencastle Antrim Rescue. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with Bell Palsy at the E.R but the Urgent Care doc on duty that day took one look at me and wanted me checked for a stroke or Bell Palsy and sent me to the ER straight away. The docs and nurses jumped on me straight away and had me sorted out within an hour. The week after that my klutzy husband fell off the back porch chasing dogs and we didn't know it at the time, broke a rib and punctured a lung. On Wednesday of that week, he basically passed out while I was (trying) to get ready for work and I called 911. The Greencastle-Antrim Rescue Squad was amazing. When we got to the ER at about 6 that morning, we had the great fortune to have the same nurses who cared for me the previous week. They ran tests and made the realization that he needed to go to Chambersburg Hospital for more intensive care. They had him squared away, ready to go and there by noon. The nurse, Bill, I believe his name was knew I went home to deal with dogs, called me at home and told me he was on his way to Chambersburg Hospital. The people in the ER were even kind enough to take care of me as I was whining about needing coffee. Bill made sure to check on me as well as he saw I was freaking out. I have been a nurse for 34 years and had all sorts of scenarios in my head. By 7 that night he had a chest tube in draining a liter and a half off his lung where he still is. Many thanks to all involved Mr and Mrs Seth Young

The doctors were very thorough. I was treated with respect the entire time.

Just walked in to the emergency room with a pregnancy issue and the old hag at the front desk told me she can’t do anything for me. And sent me on my way!

First experience I was well cared for. I left an abusive relationship in another state. As I have tried to rebuild my life and receive medications I used to take I have been given the run around. Open heart surgery pain was sent home with benadryl. Referred to several summit and wellspan doctors. First visit with pain mngt she did not have all my records and said I needed a psychologist. I'm told I have no right to a second opinion. I am disabled with back problems have had deep vein thrombosis. Pulmonary embolism bone spurs the list goes on. I have been given medicines that are clearly on my allergy list. I have spoken to case workers of all sorts. My state insurance can't understand either as they too have tried to refer me to proper medical facilities. I can't go to any other hospitals because I'm told I'm not allowed to. This is both frustrating and painful. I believe because I have state insurance I am being discriminated against. I have recorded phone conversation to back everything I'm writing along with Dr's notes. Benadryl ani depressants muscle relaxers that knock you out or mess with your head are not solutions for a person with several chronic and debilitating conditions. I have only been here 4 months so therefore there is no abuse of medications nor was there abuse in the other state with pain management. I would not recommend this hospital wellspan or summit care. They even refused treatment completely after stitches came out after oral surgery just 5 hours prior and dentist was closed told me to go there. Without giving up too much of my medical privacy .I will post every treatment I receive until this is resolved. The doctors names and diagnosis included.
