Personally I had a great experience there. The staff was amazing , I seen the Doctor on a Daily through detox, the nurses genuinely cared and the TA s was awesome , had group most all day and and AA or NA or both nightly, I got as much out of one week as I did a month in other places , I felt the holy spirit there and truly feel that this place is anointed and blessed , give it a chance with a honest effort and a want to change and you will find it there

I was at Parkside for a week. While I was there, the info I learned was exactly what I needed and I can say that it definitely changed my life. The negative part was the disorganization and lack of communication from the staff. I was told I could not start with outpatient treatment, so I attended the inpatient hospitalization. My counselor said no matter who you are or where you're at in your sobriety, she keeps everyone for 21 days. I ended up leaving after a week due to work responsibilities, and they dismissed me "against medical advice", despite the medical advice not being specific to my situation.

Although I was AMA, my treatment team told me (to my face) that I was approved to attend IOP. Shortly after, several staff members who were not on my treatment team told me that I was not approved and tried to keep me there. One counselor, Tim, straight up lied to my face saying he contacted my counselor and that I wasn't approved and that I needed to stay a few more days. One of the nurses called my counselor right in front of me with Tim next to me, and my counselor said that I was indeed approved.

Despite leaving Saturday, I wasn't able to pick up my wallet and items stored in the safe until Monday. Before I came in on Monday, I called and asked them to have my items available when I arrived. I arrived and sure enough they didn't have my stuff available so I had to go another day without my wallet and ID which was a problem because I was out of medicine and needed a prescription filled.

Overall, I enjoyed my time at Parkside but do not trust a majority of the staff.

This place is poorly ran, under staffed, facility is in poor conditions, and food makes you terribly gassy. The only thing that made my recovery some what pleasant was the Nurses (Regina and Shelly), the Counselors and YOGA(love you Jen! )
